Illinois State Police (ISP) Director Hiram Grau commended the brave and quick action of ISP SWAT officers in response to the Hostage Barricade standoff in Harvey, Illinois. He also commended all law enforcement officers involved from the Harvey Police Department, Cook County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Suburban Response Teams. Grau underscored law enforcement partnerships and the dangers of police work.
“I applaud the heroic efforts of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Harvey Police Department, South Suburban Response Team, Illinois State Police, and the two injured Harvey Police Officers for their bravery in response to this high risk operation. This standoff underscores the importance of agency collaboration and the dangers involved in police work. Fortunately it ended safely for the victims and all of the officers involved who risk their lives daily to keep communities safe,” said ISP Director Hiram Grau.
