Springfield – Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are making plans to welcome the newest rank of Troopers, Cadet Class 119, to the Agency on Friday, February 10, 2012.  Sixty three cadets will take the Illinois State Police Oath of Office at the ISP Academy.  They will receive their assignments and report to ISP districts throughout the state.

The cadets have completed a rigorous 25-week regimen of physical and classroom instruction which included training in Terrorism Awareness, Domestic Violence, Critical Incident Response, Firearms Training, First Responder Certification, Illinois Vehicle Code, Criminal Law, Motor Carrier Safety, Emergency Pursuit Driving, Juvenile Law, and more.

“This is an exciting week for the Illinois State Police cadets and their families as they reach an important milestone in becoming proud Illinois State Troopers.  Their families will join our extended police family as we recognize their achievements and support them in their new law enforcement careers,” said ISP Director Hiram Grau.

On Thursday, February 9, 2012, family members will have an opportunity to meet ISP Director Hiram Grau and command staff personnel.  A formal “Bell Ceremony” is also scheduled with presentations from Academy command staff members.  Families will be treated to brief presentations on what academy life is about as an ISP Cadet.

On Friday, February 10, Cadet Class 119 will officially be introduced and accept the ISP Oath of Office.
