|SPRINGFIELD, IL - The Illinois State Police (ISP) will begin remote site testing for this hiring application cycle at Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois, on October 6. The one-day testing process begins with registration and check-in from 8-9 a.m., with a mandatory orientation session, physical fitness test, and written suitability test immediately following. All applicants are required to attend the registration to be eligible to participate in the remote site testing process. However, individuals who do not wish to attend the remote site testing are still eligible to participate in the regular testing process. Applications for regular testing must be received no later than December 14, 2001, and are available by contacting the Recruitment Section at 866-IL-TROOPER.|
Participants in the testing process must possess the minimum requirements listed below:
Must be 21 years of age. Applicants 20 years of age may apply if they successfully meet the education requirement.
Be a U.S. citizen
Have no felony convictions
Possess a valid driver’s license
Be willing to accept statewide assignment
Applicants must have completed with a "C" average or better one of the following education requirements:
Option 1: Associate of Arts degree or equivalent course work AND three years of continuous full-time service as a police officer with the same police agency.
Option 2: Associate of Science Degree or equivalent course work AND three years continuous full-time service as a police officer with the same police agency.
Option 3: Associate of Applied Science degree in law enforcement AND three years continuous full-time service as a police officer with the same police agency.
Option 4: Bachelor’s Degree (December 2001 graduates are eligible to test.)
